Sainsbury's - Studio Production Executive
Due to my experience volunteering at my university's media production studio, I was offered the opportunity to assist with the production of content at Zest, a media agency that creates content for Sainsbury’s brands. Throughout the time I spent working at their studio, I was assigned to the production team responsible for the 2022 Argos Christmas campaign, which consisted of me and two other producers.
During my induction, I learned how the studio operated, its layout, and also got to meet colleagues from the other teams at the studio. Initially, my only tasks were managing production documents and preparing products for photo shoots. To prepare a product, I first had to input its product number in a database to see if it was stored at the studio's product warehouse. If a product was stored and available, I would direct a runner to go locate it, and if not I would send a request to have the product delivered to the studio before the photo shoot. After a photo shoot was completed, I also had to ensure all products were returned in good condition.
Soon after, as I got more comfortable in my role, I began to take more responsibilities. Sometimes, photo shoots did not happen at the studio, and would instead be done at external locations. When planning external shoots, I would have to plan transport logistics for equipment, products, and personnel. Additionally, after some time working in the role, I also began to facilitate communication between the client and studio, and took on the crucial task of overseeing quality control and ensuring the timely delivery of completed assets.
In summary, my time at Zest not only allowed me to grow professionally by taking on diverse responsibilities but also enabled me to contribute meaningfully to the success of the 2022 Argos Christmas campaign and the overall operations of the studio.
The Fundamentals of Digital Marketing
I completed The Fundamentals of Digital Marketing, a comprehensive course offered by Google and The Open University. This accredited course taught me the principles of topics like search engine optimisation, email marketing, display advertising, organic and paid traffic, web analytics, and mobile marketing.
King's Trust - Get Started With Photography
I completed a photography programme ran by the King’s Trust, in which I got to develop and practise my skills. During the programme, I specialised in black and white landscape photography. Some time after the programme, I was invited to help photograph Coats and Conversations, an event hosted by The Prince's Trust and New Look. After the event, some of the pictures I took were shared across the King's Trust social media pages.
